KI System

Ki (気 "Ki", lit. "Spirit"), also known as chi/qi, Yōki (妖気)[1] or simply energy (エネルギー enerugī), is the life force energy used by all beings. Ki is also known as "latent energy" or "fighting power," which directly translates as "life force." This force is a tangible energy inside every living being, with its major focus being in the center of the body. By drawing it out, an individual is able to manipulate it and use it outside the body. Ki can be used for many different techniques. Because there are physical limits to the strength of the body itself, it is necessary to increase one's ki to overcome this barrier and become stronger. There are THREE Types of Ki.

• Regular ki or Good ki: A type of ki that is used by anyone that holds no evil intentions. It is also called Genki (the same as the component listed before). Some techniques need Good ki to work, as the Spirit Bomb. The appearance of this type of ki is usually a white aura around the user. Some techniques and transformations such as Super Saiyan, Kaioken, Ultra Instinct -Sign- or Ultimate Evolution can change the appearance of this type of ki.
  
  
• Evil ki (邪気 Jaki, lit. "Maliciousness"): A particular type of ki that is manifested by beings with evil hearts. Usually, the villains have this type of ki. This nature of ki can be changed if the user holds no evil intentions. The appearance of this type of ki is usually a purple or pink aura around the user.
  
  
• Godly ki (神の気 Kami no Ki, lit. "Spirit of a God"): A special type of ki used by godly beings. Godly ki is far superior to regular ki, however, a large enough amount of regular ki can outmatch a Godly ki user. Normal Godly Ki, as in the case of a Kai, appears either blue or white, while the appearance of a God of Destructions Ki can be purple or black. The amount of ki varies depending on the individual. Usually, non-trained beings have very little ki. Training can increase the amount of ki greatly. The amount of ki is generally related to the Power Level, the greater the amount of ki, the greater the power level of the user. If the ki is great enough it can affect the surrounding, like generating powerful gusts of wind, shaking the ground (even the planet) or even destroying it.


Ki can be used in many ways, from Ki attacks to Transformations. Below we will list exactly the ways that it can be used.

Ki Attacks: Ki can be used to enhance the combat abilities of the user. Usually to increase their strength. Advanced ki users can also emit plasma from their bodies in the form of beams, spheres or explosions.

Transformations: Depending on their genetic inheritance, some beings are able to transform. However, not all beings are able to transform at will; in some instances, there must be certain environmental conditions required for their transformation (i.e. moonlight for Great Ape transformation, or emotional upheaval for first time Super Saiyans). By transforming, a person can change the limits of their regular body. Effects of transformations usually include alterations in strength and ki capacity. Some other effects may include differences in speed and durability.

Ki Control: By gaining perfect control over their ki and thus stopping any of it from leaking out of their body, a fighter is shown to be able to become exponentially more powerful.

Ki Sense: A user with enough ki control eventually learns how to sense it, being able to sense the location, amount and type, the stronger and closer the enemy, the more powerful the sensation. Also, if a ki is very powerful, it can be sensed from afar by people who are trained to sense energy. This also encompasses the ability to conceal one's ki from being sensed.

Defense/Guard: Ki, once mastered at a basic level, carries more than just offensive and tactical power. While the durability of one's flesh and bones carry an obvious limit (even for races such as Saiyans, Namekians and deities) the extent of a fighter's ki does not carry these limits. As a result, fighters can increase their endurance by raising their guard to deflect ki attacks, although this obviously does drain energy.

Ki Harvesting: Ki can be harvested from other beings and used by others in a variety of ways. The most common being Energy Absorption in which one drains another being's ki to increase their own.


Techniques utilizing ki, there are several different attack-types of techniques utilizing ki.
Basic-type (基本型 Kihon-gata): Energy gathered and then fired as an energy bullet, examples include the Big Bang Attack and the Big Bang Crash .

Concentration-type (集中型 Shūchū-gata): Techniques where the ki is concentrated into one part of the body and then fired, examples include Special Beam Cannon and Dodon Ray .

Accumulation-type (集積型 Shūseki-gata): Technique where one borrows the ki of others and makes it into an energy attack, examples include the Spirit Bomb.

Kiai-type (気合い型 Kiai-gata): Techniques that cannot be directly seen through the naked eye, examples include the Tri-Beam and Kiai.

Alteration-type (変化型 Henka-gata): Technique where the ki is manipulated to take on a certain form different from the traditional energy blast, examples include Destructo Disc, Spirit Sword and Galactic Donuts.

Rapid Fire-type (連続型 Renzoku-gata): Techniques which rapid fire energy bullets, these attacks are very powerful and consume immense amounts of ki, but leave no openings for counterattacks. Examples include Continuous Die Die Missile and Human Extinction Attack.

Guided-type (誘導型 Yūdō-gata): Techniques where the energy attack is freely manipulated by the user, examples include the Spirit Ball. The ultimate form of this type is where the technique is not merely manipulated by the user but rather possess its own consciousness and thus can act on its own if necessary, examples of this type include Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack.

Blended-type (融合型 Yūgō-gata): Techniques which are a blend of the above types as they use different properties from each, examples include Neo Tri-Beam (a combination of Kiai-type and Rapid Fire-type) and Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack 10-Ghost Finish (a combination of the Guided-type and Rapid Fire-type).

Ki does not just exist for the purpose of attacking and as such there are also several supportive type ki techniques.
Movement-type (移動型 Idō-gata): Techniques which use ki to aid in the user's movement, examples include Sky Dance Technique and Instant Transmission.

Attack Assisting-type (攻撃補助型 Kōgeki Hojo-gata): Techniques which aid the user in attacking, examples include the Kaio-ken, Solar Flare and Energy Shield.

Sealing-type (封印型 Fūin-gata): Techniques which seal the opponent away, examples include the Evil Containment Wave.


The Ki cost that is drawn from your Ki pool upon using a technique often varies from technique to technique, but can be anywhere from 5 to 1,000 points/post/use. This is a case by case basis, if you don't know what your tech should be, simply check out existing techniques or use your best judgement! Staff is always willing to help as well!

To obtain Ki Techniques (Kamehameha, Flight, Kiai, etc...), one must do training OR purchase said techniques with Zeni. The costs are outlined below:

To obtain techniques with Post training = 10 posts
To obtain techniques with Zeni = 1,000 Zeni
One can also split the difference with 5 posts and 500 Zeni.
